stormshield

Black is the new black

Warum also nicht?!

Heute eingetroffen – heute getestet

High time for some new kit to get me outdoors in the chilly temperatures of autumn.

This time, I decided to order from Morvelo. After freezing my ass off in the last few years in my Assos Halalalai, I fancied a thermo bib short, that is well insulated and covers the kidneys. The Stormshield bib shorts was the logical choice. Moreover, I ordered a wind/rain jersey and – just for fun – a cap. I don’t wear a cap during summer, as it feels to hot then, but in autumn/winter a cap shields off the wind. So, why not?!

Delivered today – tested today

When I had to shell out 47.50 Fr. for tax at the post office, I felt a bit silly. But after testing the products, I am very much ok with it. First the jersey: Slimmingly black it’s called Stormshield. The fabric is slightly stiffer, must be the wind stopping material within. I ordered the large, and it fits like a glove over my base layer shirt that keeps the moisture from my body. During my today’s ride I never felt the wind chill, nothing. I am really impressed.

The bib shorts (L) are also a hit. My kidneys are nicely covered and the insulated fabric feels cosy. The chamois felt great on today’s ride (being used the Assos chamois). I had the impression, though, that the fabric slides a bit more on my saddle. A bit irritating, but only a detail.

The price is in my opinion ok, because the functionality of the two products is outstanding. The rain jersey costs £ 105, the thermal bib short also £ 105. The cap costs £ 15. Sizing: You need to size up.
