Starlet oder Bergpreissiegerin?

160626_Trikots

Starlet or KOM winner?

It is quite a task to find a cycling jersey that is discreet and does not sport too many strange colours and features. Especially for a woman. The criteria: no pink, no flowers, no fattening design.

The search is still ongoing (and I am open to suggestions & samples), but lately I found two jerseys by the brand Twin Six. Found them at Veloplus, Emmen. In M. It was a good thing that I was able to try them on in the shop. Because L would have been too big (that’s the difference between a US label and a producer from Italy as La Passione, see article above). I bought The Starla and The Polka for CHF 89.90 each. The Starla plays with the Stars & Stripes motive of the US-flag. The Polka design is related to the “polka dot jersey” of the KOM-leader at the Tour de France. For both jerseys I bought a highly overpriced bidon in the according design (CHF 13.90), and the socks for The Starla.

After my first ride with The Starla here my first impression: The jersey material is common, no special fast drying fabric which I’d rather prefer. I’d even pay more for the jersey if the material was better. The cut fits a woman well. I would have preferred some silicone dots holding the jersey a bit better around the hips, though. The zip rolls up nicely.

It is a nice design and it looks slimming. I am looking forward to wearing the The Polka. Which is a different story. A bit more loud, not as slimming (because not black), but will go well with my white racing bike with red writing.
